There are two components of a Pap Smear: 1) obtaining the specimen and 2) analyzing the specimen
1) Codes used for obtaining the Pap Smear specimen. CPT does state that a Pap smear is part of the preventive service.

G0438 – Annual wellness visit; includes a personalized prevention plan of service (pps), initial visit
G0439 – Annual wellness visit, includes a personalized prevention plan of service (pps), subsequent visit
